We were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal to the archive earlier this week.

We shared some of the amazing stories from our exhibition, The Town That Taught Itself, before she was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate for her services to the arts.

Sometimes archive materials need a bit of TLC. At last week's conservation training day with West Yorkshire Archive Service, our team practiced everything from dealing with water damage to - our favourite - cleaning items with smoke sponges ✨

The beautiful front cover of Cassell's Popular Natural History! [LSS/19] This fourth volume focussing on reptiles, insects and aquatic life can be found in our Lumbutts Sunday School Library collection and features hundreds of engravings from the late 1800s.
