The best fic I read this month was Steve and Eddie’s Tryst Through Time by 419Jhat. This has maybe my favorite modern!Steve, a fast-paced, actiony plot, and great banter. One of the Top 5 Steddie fics ever IMO. archiveofourown.org/works/511867...

All of your work is ridiculously good! This one just blew my mind. You managed to make it strange but so meaningful while avoiding the weird-for-the-sake-of-weird tropes. Loved it!

And Empty Space by Paryton, a nearly 300k epic with an awesome twist I never saw coming. I can’t properly lavish praise on it without spoilers, and you deserve to go in with no expectations. archiveofourown.org/works/471262...

My two favorite fics this month were: Idle Hands (With Time to Kill) by grimweather and the incomparable @teddywesworl.bsky.social. This story was an acid trip in the best way, weird and wonderful. Whatever you think it is based on the description, it’s not. archiveofourown.org/works/59379505

The only fic I can recommend this month was an accidental re-read, I Come Back To The Place You Are by pizzabones. This is the quintessential steddie slow burn for me. The vibes are so good, the writing is so well-paced, and the characterizations are so charming - just an all-around feel good fic.

and An Act of Grace by Missberrycake. I had put off reading this one because I don’t listen to true crime podcasts, but I didn’t need to understand the reference to love the fic. So well-structured and paced with real heart. Wish they’d make it a TV show.

and The Sound of Silence by Deadratz. This was a re-read - the characterization of Eddie as a traumatized kitten really stuck with me.

and Right Where You Belong by @wabisabipapi.bsky.social, a lovely take on the Time Traveler’s Wife that manages to stay true to the characters. Super efficient storytelling too.

My favs this month were: Stargazer by Asgardian_Pirate, a clever, creative sci fi fic that’s been totally slept on IMO. How does this gem only have 91 kudos?!

Another favorite was the very compact Night Divides The Day by @mixsethaddams.bsky.social. Really incredible world- and relationship-building for just 10k. A must-read for folks who do short stories only.

My other favorite of the month was Late Bloomers by @wabisabipapi.bsky.social (again!) and @mojowitchcraft.bsky.social. Devoured this is less than 24 hours. Loved the premise, loved the execution. Warm fuzzies + smut.

Of those 2 million+ words, the best were Fill My Lungs With Sweetness by @wabisabipapi.bsky.social - an exceptional blend of steddie and last of us. Amazing how much emotion, tension, and world building are packed into 39k words.
