This is not a regime that reads widely, or understands irony. For them, history is tradition if it suits their needs, lies if it doesn't. The underlying pathology isn't new, however the speed at which the propaganda spreads has never been faster.

We have had tales of black cats in Australia since at least the second world war. The story most often told is that they were brought over by US Troops as unit mascots, then released when the troops returned home. Given our strict quarantine laws (and lack of evidence) , it all seems unlikely.

Few directors have a resume as impressive as Kurosawa. Even amongst such greatness, High and Low stands out as one of his finest films.

They ran to enrich themselves and to hurt prople they don't like (anyone who is not a cis-het white christian male of privilege), and so far they have done pretty well on both fronts. These two "policies" drive the GOP position on health, defence and the economy.
