Registration has now ended for the Coe Backcountry Weekend. The Dowdy Ranch Entrance will be closed to the general public from Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27. Only event ticketholders will be permitted beyond the Bell's Station Entrance on those dates.

The Dowdy Ranch Entrance is closed today due to road work. However, it will be open Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, from 8 am to 6 pm. Road construction will resume Monday, and the entrance is expected to be closed through Friday 4/11. For updates, visit the park's official website. Link in bio.

Due to recent rain, the Dowdy Ranch Entrance will be open again on Sunday March 9th, 2025 from 8:00am until 6:00pm. More rain is forecasted into next week, so expect closures for 48 hours after any rainfall.

The Dowdy Ranch Entrance will only be open for Day Use on Saturday, March 1. Dowdy will be closed on Sunday due to forecasted rain. Day Use hours are 8 am to 6 pm. The day use parking fee is $8 ($7 for seniors, 62+) and cash only.

Curious about the park’s prescribed burn program? Come to the Coe Ranch Entrance Visitor Center on March 1 or March 8 at 9:30 am or 12:30 pm for a talk and guided hike to learn about the tools and techniques used in prescribed burns from the park’s forestry crew.

Pile burning will occur periodically between February 18 and May 15. Piles are located at the Coe Ranch Entrance along Hobbs Road and Forest Trail, and at the Manzanita Point Group Camps, as well as Gilroy Yamato Hot Springs. For details: www.parks.ca.gov/post/31

Due to heavy rainfall, the Middle and East Forks of Coyote Creek are probably unsafe to cross. Backpackers are advised to start from the Hunting Hollow Entrance for the next week to avoid unsafe water crossings. coepark.net/backpacking/...
