Fair enough that’s your opinion. But you said they were not eligible and that’s not true. There were about 10,000 construction related skilled visas issued in 2023-24 across the major categories.

The main difference between the two streams is the time taken to process visa applications (days vs weeks) and the whether the occupation is subject to the eligibility process conducted by Jobs and Skills Australia. But at the end of the day, they will get the same visa.

Yes, a new system is being introduced shortly. Trades are not included for the high wage priority stream. However the is another stream, where eligible jobs can be sponsored as long as the market salary is above $73,510. At the moment, trades are included on that list.

Not to be one of those people, but I think some of these were for Royal assent as opposed to in the parliament. Eg Boxing Day 1987

The Triangle still feels empty, we have so, so much room in which to build more national institutions. The Ngurra precinct was going to do that, but alas that's going to Acton now.

(Currently, about 2x the land in the main area of the Triangle is used for surface car parking vs buildings...)
