A great read on the Kinahan family.

When Brexiters say we should emulate Dubai, are they including the bit where you allow murderous drug traffickers to live freely and money-launder?

pretty crazy contrast between MPs' dithering over fixing Westminster (to save their lives) and Trump just bulldozing past of the White House (to add a ballroom)

This is a lovely idea - The Toy Project (a charity) is selling second-hand plushies at Selfridges, in new artistic boxes. Proceeds go to help vulnerable children.

We throw away so many toys. Nice to reclaim some of them!

interesting divergence in sales of oat milk etc.

This comment deserves a response:

a) Hunting and gathering is not unsustainable for the Kayapó and other tribes (who were once far more numerous).

b) It also helps to sustain the rest of us, because otherwise the Amazon would've been cut down by loggers and ranchers. www.ft.com/content/58e1...

In 1978, Marlon Brando narrated a documentary called Raoni about a Brazilian tribe fighting for their rights to land in the face of deforestation.

This week I met Raoni. He is still fighting for the forest: on.ft.com/4nVFa3F

Watch this video.

"it was Maccabi [Tel Aviv] fans attacking Amsterdam citizens and starting a riot... Maccabi fans were seen picking up metal poles"

These guys will not be missed on our streets.

From the reports I've seen, Israel football fans have behaved disgracefully abroad (although Ajax fans responded very badly too).

The way that football has sorted out such problems is by taking a very hard line on the clubs involved. Not sure Maccabi Tel Aviv can have any complaints.
