My gripe with Apple atm: the entire iPhone 14 Pro series batteries started dying really quickly, and people started posting battery health figures at 87% after a year of normal use. Apple straight up went “oh yeah some of those batteries are fucked up lol” and did absolutely nothing about it.

The best thing about this staple gun is how it doesn’t care about you. There’s no safety, no sensors, just a giant spring and a handle. It’ll staple anything in front of it and it doesn’t care if that’s plywood or your hand. Incredible piece of kit.

I’ve sensationalised a bit here. It’s a problem that bluesky and the iOS default mastodon app solved by setting up everyone on the default .social server. It’s still an issue though, and decentralised social media need much more work before everyone can join comfortably.

This just in: computer nerds and web developers are baffled that normal people don’t want to “pick a server” when signing up to a social media platform.
