As much as i prefer to not talk about politics publicly as I don't think thats extremely relevant for me as a programmer, i do think your comment was very reasonable in order to push to get to the bottom of their intended message here. And its a little telling of what that is when it was deleted

Not to mention that factions actually feel different enough for it to matter. I never felt who you played mattered much in civ. It the factions here feels more like crusader kings where playstyles can be drastically different

Someone else already daid it but maybe its better to have it just communicated with several layers of feedback instead? The stars, a reeling animation, possibly a sound when they get stunned, and a particle effect?

Is our best answer to make the game play itself more, like the auto-combat chips in Nier:Automata? Or do we reduce it to "Skill issue" and decide that the highest difficulties are optional and do not have any progression benefits and only cosmetics/extra XP? Ignoring these players entirely.

This question is aimed at multiplayer PvE games with random matchmaking. It doesn't make sense to make well defined balanced difficulty tiers and then have a slider to make it easier again. It defeats the purpose of the fine tuned balancing. Not to mention people will abuse it for rewards.
