This was such a good event, and a big thank you to Malcolm Cook, @henryburridge.bsky.social and @abigailhathway.bsky.social for making it happen.
Fantastic event last night focused on Collaboration for Knowledge to enable Healthy, Safe and Sustainable buildings. So many ideas and thoughts around how to do things better and a chance to honour Hywel Davies for his contributions to better buildings over so many years

Having a bit of a reminisce today. Five years ago an email arrived that changed my life - a request to produce a paper on what we knew about the environmental transmission of covid-19 for the UK SAGE committee. 1/

Ooh, exciting!
And that’s it, we’ve said goodbye to the last bits of our oil heating infrastructure. Surplus oil and tank sold - there no going back now, heat pump all the way!

Last month we shared our recommendations for improving
#AirQuality in #UKschools at a @ukri.org parliamentary reception.

We were delighted that #SAMHE was chosen as a showcase of how publicly funded research and innovation positively impacts people’s lives.

Very glad to see this paper out: doi.org/10.1016/j.di... reporting evidence based on the first term of CO2 data from the @SAMHEProject - headline is that adherence to UK guidance for schools is relatively high most of the time; however...

This is very cool - just like climate you can now find air quality stripes for where you are in the world. And it’s a really stark reminder of the inequalities with places like the UK showing improvement but cities in many parts of the world still getting worse airqualitystripes.info/stripes/?con...

Good to see this paper from the SAMHE study. Shows that classroom CO2 levels within guidelines most of the time but exceed regularly and sometimes by a lot. Per person ventilation rates are low, and schools in wealthier areas or fee paying likely to have better ventilation doi.org/10.1016/j.di...
