Run a software company, lousy sculler,
Londoner.
Amusing that he also got his Freedom Pass today.

I am reminded of the bloke in black who leaps out in front of Indiana 'Carney' Jones, twirling his sword....

Britain is now a multi-racial country but it was, of course, a multi-racial empire.

If Mr. Musk is right & there is little chance of a people fighting to defend a multi-racial country one might predict that there would no chance of the colonised fighting to defend a multi-racial empire.

And yet.

No, I’d have said those days were gone too.

I felt that it was for the thrill of acceleration although that theory didn’t survive ignoring speed bumps which were surely grim for both of us.
February 9, 2026 at 8:37 AM
I had that same experience last night. The car itself, the driver or both?
Certainly, the acceleration is bonkers and not sensible in town.
Window open, focus on the outside world and I got there without throwing up but thoroughly unpleasant.

Bonkers.

Let’s apply that idea elsewhere.

Is the Congress going to tell us we can’t regulate another US company, Smith and Wesson?

Because we absolutely do.

I’ve always wanted to meet Billy No-mates.

I know it’s not the point, but might this be interpreted as “I didn’t get Greenland but the Danes gave me this valuable penguin. So much winning!”

“I fought the wall and the wall won”

There’s a German with a mobile phone subscription living on the street right outside my front door - no passport, no work permit.

If Lowe is going to do some deporting I do hope he gives me warning because I’ve left a pair of wellies and a Roxy Music CD in the boot.

From the days when Britain was still on the Sausage Standard.

It was a dark day when we allowed breakfast to float.

Am I correct in my recollection that, faced with imminent German invasion in 1914, the king of the Belgians said they faced a choice - to be crushed or to be crushed with honour.

They chose the latter course.

What a man.
January 15, 2026 at 7:49 PM
I’m sure I’m not the right profile for UKIP but even British nazis have reservations about Germans, I believe.
January 13, 2026 at 8:51 AM
That’s a massive error.
January 13, 2026 at 8:28 AM
Wiser folk than me will know but I’d hazard that you would need to clear customs in Ireland because in the US it would be impossible to separate pre-cleared foreigners from locals in a domestic terminal.
January 11, 2026 at 1:13 PM
I didn’t actually.. I got raffled up in the Heathrow power outage last March and so came back any way possible.

But.. I looked enviously at the Dublin pre-clearance set up…. It’s tempting!
January 11, 2026 at 1:06 PM
It was a thoroughly pleasant experience I must say.
January 11, 2026 at 10:59 AM
I don’t get much exposure to the CTA but was discombobulated as a Brit transferring in Dublin from the USA and being waved through by a pretty chilled Irish immigration chap for my flight to London and then to find myself in domestic arrivals at LHR. So no UK immigration checks.

Reading these replies I find myself thinking

“these are my people”

So…

What’s going on with his shirt collar? It’s too low, isn’t it?

How come?

I would like it if Brexiters would reply:

“Yes, we are poorer, and it’s worth it”

That’s an honourable position and it would allow all of us to decide whether what we have gained (looking quizzically at his new blue passport) was good value.

How much would the Beeb raise with A GoFundMe, do you think?

Personally, I can guarantee it will be at least £20.
December 19, 2025 at 5:48 PM
I wonder if Labour purists apply the same logic in their own lives.

I want to win an Olympic gold medal but putting on trainers first and going for a jog is a betrayal of everything I believe in.

Thank you.
December 17, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Now I can’t stop telling myself that line.

Optical illusion begets comedy allusion.
