There's some nuance: it should be the goal of transition to take HRT, yes, but unfortunately the existing trans healthcare system is not sufficient to ensure everyone who needs HRT receives it, and I don't believe relaxing the standards for complex medical interventions is practical or responsible.

All while leaving out the important detail that both Ed Gein and Buffalo Bill were indeed not transsexual OR gender-nonconforming: they had deeply unhealthy obsessions with their mothers, and their "transformation" was a way to get closer to/become their mother.

That being said, if a person is going through precocious puberty, they should not be denied puberty blockers merely for having an existing diagnosis of gender dysphoria. You're right though, the current framework doesn't allow for optimal use and if puberty has already started, HRT is preferable.

The latter part is correct, actually, as there's a big difference between being transsexual and gender-nonconforming.

Butch lesbians can cry me a river: they have no concept of what life is actually like as a transsexual person, they will never need the medical resources or legal policies transsexuals require in order to be themselves, and I'm sick of gays only caring about transphobia when it affects them.

People like you made transsexuals look like a joke to the public and we lost everything we worked for as a result. Mind you, the medical model of transsexuality was created to help people, and without it, those who need intervention the most are the first to be deprived.

Maybe people would reconsider their position on transmedicalism when you realise its proponents still recognise medical transition as important, and that the lack of guardrails surrounding it is setting an irresponsible precedent in terms of legal policy and medical practice.

How does subscribing to the medical model of transsexuality make me a "bigot"? At least transmedicalists agree medical and legal transition are the most important aspects of transsexuality, rather than arguing about genders and saying men can get pregnant and pushing for "visibility" at any cost.

It helps clarify legal and medical policies surrounding gender transition and prioritise people who need interventions the most. Like I don't get why you can't see the damage that demedicalising transsexuality has done.

No it isn't. Like no responsible doctor should do surgery on or prescribe HRT to a person without a documented medical reason to do so.
