As i understood it from the rp people, putting those risc-v cores on the 2350 was more of an experiment/learning opportunity, since they had room to spare anyway?
As for the PIO i think it’s an excellent idea and i really miss it on other MCUs now

Yeah, useful not only for power optimization but also just as a sidechannel monitor into things like general cpu/resouce utilization and duration of tasks etc
