Good thing there is already a courtroom in Nuremberg prepared for these idiots.

Today, the site of the trials offers the day of open doors.

Well, a German version: #TagDerOffenenTüre

Exactly 80 years ago the #NurembergTrials started.

Back then, POTUS was not a corrupt narcissist despot so USA rejected proposals by Stalin and other allies to summarily execute Nazi #warCriminals after show trials, and instead demanded evidence based fair trials and #RuleOfLaw

The United States Foundation for preservation of American Heritage Abroad honoured the memory of people murdered here, specifying dissident #DietrichBonhoeffer.

The honours were in Donald Trump's name. 6 years before he established #AlligatorAlcatraz and proposed execution of Democratic lawmakers

Just like with the Christmas markets, the catholic church is very near, literally a few steps from the SS guard tower.
November 22, 2025 at 12:42 PM
Instead of visiting yet another Christmas market, I came to #Flossenbürg concentration camp.

The Nazis sent 100.000 people here after 1938 for forced labour in granite mining and nearby Messerschmitt factory. 30.000 people were murdered before the US army liberated the camp in April 1945.

The German railway company Deutsche Bahn needs to remind American military personnel stationed in Germany that they also need to respect local law and purchase a ticket before riding the train.

High temperature #HeatPumps can achieve superior COP with hybrid compression/absorption cycle, especially if the temperature differences (delta-T or "Spreizung") at the heat source and heat sink are high (10K - 40K).

Another example of how #motonormativity leads political decision making in Bavaria:

Pedestrians and sidewalks are important but cars are importanter when they need a convenient place to park without restrictions and at no cost.

Spineless media is partly to blame. Take this article:
Fossil car loving politicians quoted without scrutiny, calling electric vehicle schemes 'ideology, claiming to protect public finances by cutting social services while proposing millions for freeways, nuclear reactors, fusion and hydrogen cars

US citizens should actively expose and document the unfolding crimes of ICE in their neighborhoods. Even years later this is valuable data in preventing fascist attacks in future

The #NaziCrimesAtlas app in Germany specifies locations and details of Nazi raids against Jews 87 years ago.

The city of Würzburg was a transport hub for Nazi Germany deportations 1941 - 1944.

A sad chapter in history for this beautiful city, but it must not be forgotten.

Today there is a memorial at the railway station.

The 29 M€ import of Russian nuclear fuel just 2 months ago for the Soviet-built Loviisa nuclear plant is disappointing, as the responsible minister Mykkänen proudly claimed in January 2024 that Loviisa NPP is no longer dependent on Russian #NuclearFuel deliveries.

Russia now has more money to spend on nuclear weapons as #Finland paid 29 million € for #NuclearFuel to #NuclearWeapons manufacturer #Rosatom in July

Last year it was more, 50 million €

Nuclear energy is not affected by sanctions..

I find the cycling infrastructure really inspiring, like the bicycle parking facility at the Utrecht railway station.

It's worth reminding that incumbent energy utilities failed spectacularly to understand #renewables just 30 years ago.

In 1993 the #nuclear power operators in Germany published this joint statement that solar, wind & hydro can't provide over 4% of electricity demand in 🇩🇪.

Even in the long term.

Saksan yritysmaailma oli myös osallisena natsien julmuuksiin. Osa yritysjohtajista tuomittiin Nürnbergin prosesseissa sodan jälkeen.

Tässä kuvassa Krupp-yrityksen johdon tuomiot, esim vankeutta 12 vuotta sekä omaisuuden menetys Alfried Kruppille, muille lievempiä tuomioita.

Would a 2kW+2kWh #BalconySolar system for 1199€ = 1410$ help on both accounts?

If it were allowed in NYC that is.

With adequate sunshine it could feed power directly into a household socket at half the price.
The 2kWh battery could keep the fridge running for many hours in case of blackout.

I'm sorry to keep blaming the media since it does take a lot of insight to distinguish the culprits from the heroes in climate action.

Here in Germany there are also big differences between successive governments. As seen in the graph below.
Unfortunately, that graph will go downhill soon.

Apparently the decision to exclude #AmbientEnergy from both Primary energy and Final energy consumption stems from the Energy Efficiency Directive definitions:
eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dir/2023...

Ambient Energy itself is defined in the Renewable Energy Directive
eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dir/2018...
September 20, 2025 at 9:25 PM
The German lawmakers disagree.

The Energy efficiency law EnEfG §3 8. states that "surrounding heat and cold" and solar thermal shall not be calculated towards end energy usage.

September 20, 2025 at 7:52 PM
Ironically, the lawmaker acknowledges the importance of "Surrounding heat" when subsidising #DistrictHeating operators.

To reduce OPEX of a heat pump a bonus is paid:
up to 9,2 ct per kWh of "Umgebungswärme" that the #heatpump manages to capture and feed into the grid.

September 20, 2025 at 8:32 PM
Yes, you're right.

But still, Energy Auditors in Germany are instructed not to calculate "Surrounding Heat" (=Umgebungswärme) into the sum of final energy usage.

I wonder how other countries address this. Shouldn't the Energy Efficiency Directive harmonise methodology?
