Just had a great week at the FASEB Cilia and Flagella conference. The Biology was awesome, but also - when in St. Paul, MN - I highly recommend a stay at the Covington Inn B&B on Harriet Island. It's a luxurious tugboat charming, comfortable, close to the conf. centres with bird watching!

Thrilled to see new investments in Canadian postdocs in #Budget2024 $825M to support future research talent. $1.8B to support grants. Federal postdoctoral fellowships will increase from $40k to $70k! An amazing investment. Thanks @supportourscience.bsky.social for advocating!

I hear a lot that Postdocs aren't engaged enough at events at their institution. My response usually: they're depressed, overwhelmed, burning out. Well... CAPS/ACPP just released their 2020 national survey report and a jaw dropping 79% of 🇨🇦 Postdocs report experiencing severe mental health issues.
