I had to take a good look too. D. moldavica is a annual garden plant here. It’s a good plant for bees and butterflies 😀

Yes, always nice to see. I spotted it a few times this year, but not that often. It occurs in the hilly areas, in combination with southerly winds, like today.

Is zelfs verplicht onderdeel. Helaas nog geen wilde bijen en zweefvliegen.

These look like Rosa Charles Rennie Mackintosh (pink) and R. Golden Celebration (yellow. Both wonderfully fragant.

Interesting. Inula was my first thought too, but I usually find Inula to be less hairy. I’ve got lots of Scabiosa rosettes in my garden (plant on the right in the photo, with Knautia arvensis on the left), but there are quite a few differences compared to your photo. So, a tricky and interesting ID!

I’ve been spotting the odd Bulbous Buttercup flowering in autumn as well, usually just one or two plants. Maybe the species just isn’t as tempted to put on a second autumn show as the Meadow Buttercup is. Or perhaps climate change is giving it a bit of a nudge to bloom again?
