my definition of "an UI bug" is basically "any design or implementation choice that makes users miserable". i do not think many in open source hardware|software share this definition and i won't be satisfied until it's a new norm

Lyrics

Just chatting about nothing in particular
On the way home, waving and saying "See you tomorrow"
I don't even remember why we laughed so much
It's strange how I can't recall a single thing
But still, that fleeting, dreamlike time was real
Just saying "See you," that alone
Was enough to […]

What cruel muse, to show me these scenes for a story I am so inadequate to write.

My poor attempts to capture the vibrancy of the images before me leave me sad.

A horse-faced girl teased relentlessly by her classmates, finds out her betrothed has been captured in combat and is being […]

If someone (why would you think it's me? I'm really asking for a fried) thought that "Uprooted" and "The Goblin Emperor" were perfect vacation comfort reads, what other book will this person like?

Personal recommendations please based on the above two.

Boosts very welcome.

[#frieren #anime Season 2 Trailer 2 spoilers]

I'm not crying, you're crying. 😭 That transition from Flamme's closeup to Frieren and her party praying, that's gotta 100% be a tribute to Flamme's Seiyuu Atsuko Tanaka who passed away recently. This level of direction in a trailer gives me very […]

Years ago, before the era of flat-screens, my monitor at work kept making a zapping noise and briefly going blank.
A minute or two after I filed a #helpdesk ticket asking for help with this problem, I had to reply to my own ticket and explain sheepishly that it was being caused by my snowy boots […]

[#EliteDangerous #FanFiction A Tale of Joy, Woe, Persistence, and Redemption]

This is a little fanfiction for Elite Dangerous I wrote years ago. Decided to go ahead and post it to AO3. Apologies.

Too many Winning Heroines are Losing]

This alternate history fanfic has all the "winning heroines" losing. It's one of the best fan fictions I've ever read, across any fandom.

It's mostly a love letter to the absolute peak heroine Himemiya Karen, and […]

Prologue

Outside every town there is a tree, never marked on a map. The only way there is by word of mouth. It's never a tree with flowers or fruit, never anything showy. Just a tree. Brown bark, green leaves, bare branches […]

Let's look closer at the Venera 8 landing site. Now the mission team knew they could reach the surface it made sense to measure composition with a gamma ray instrument. Earlier probes had mostly studied the atmosphere during descent. The composition was […]
