It's quite a chonker compared to the type 2, but still kinda history and lovely in its own way.

Sure. I'd usually do it by brush on Guardians by painting on small rather diluted dots which leave "coffee stains", but you could use tweezers and a tiny piece of sponge instead. The same way as people paint weathering.
