SC administration of 2g ceftriaxone appears to be well tolerated with favourable PK parameters in non-critically ill patients with severe infections.

Hopeful that this will add to the growing body of literature that normalise the use of SC antibiotics for some patients.

Our findings support the utility of histopathological analysis whilst also demonstrating a high rate of discordance between histopathology and microbiology.

In contrast to histopathology, positive cultures were not associated with lower rates of treatment success.

Further work is needed to define the optimal screening and management strategies for disseminated cryptococcosis in immunocompromised patients without HIV.
