While Mamdani is the main event tonight, a large number of democrat victories occured in just about every election that happened today. Every Democrat should be ready to focus on fighting Trump, if they want to engage their voters.

A lot of folks bringing up the Rapture today, but honestly? Purgatory with extra steps.

Keith Haring art on a Kesho-Mawashi is one I haven't seen before. Cool pick, honestly.

Abi has been having a rough time this Basho. I feel like something's up with his arms. The weirdest part of Div-1 to me this basho though is Ryuden, who has both been doing decent (not weird) and has had matches I enjoy watching (much weirder).

Got watch some Basho tonight, and honestly, Division 1 is full of cool stuff right now. It's impressive to see Tamawashi still going out there and delivering even in his 40's, and it's stunning to see young bucks like Hitoshi and Shishi showing their raw talent.

With respect to current events, it's important to remember that the people you've regarded as disposable do not owe you sympathy. If you cannot see the humanity in others in your life, then you will likely also have earned celebration upon your death.

Hate's a strong word, but I ignore it, honestly. I don't need to pay money for someone to tell me I'm not good enough, which is all I've ever seen these guys do.
i wanna try something. quote this post if you’re a man who hates the manosphere

Hulk Hogan has passed. I wish he were the man he pretended to be, but he clearly wasn't. I doubt there's much to say without being cruel, so I suppose that's all I've got to offer.

Finally got around to watching Sinners. Excellent movie. Nice to see Coogler just do a movie that isn't part of a whole franchise. Incredible acting all around.

If you see this, quote this post with a game with a 10/10 soundtrack. Unsurprisingly, the game about music and chaos has a solid soundtrack.

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn’t from Star Wars or Transformers 🤖 (Bonus)

One thing I find fascinating about the supposed "need" to use AI in media production, is that amateur-made stuff of middling quality sells all over the place? Like, I'm not saying everyone will be a stellar artist, but outsourcing your vision to a robot who's just plagiarizing something similiar?

Happy Juneteenth! Please note that any replies with ignorant takes will be ignored, I've got shit to do and with my credentials teaching history requires an hourly rate.

What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

The entirety of physical architecture in a casino is designed to prevent you from thinking about what time it is, which is why there are typically no clocks on the gaming floor and no outside facing windows.
What is common knowledge in your field, but shocks outsiders?

The reason your ISP sucks now is because they incentivized 90% of all the people who knew what they were doing to quit or retire early, and backfilled them with piecework independent contractors who have to rush to make any money

There's a number of folks, largely pundits, whose primary concern about Trump is neither his authoritarianism nor his amorality, but his defiance of convention and general uncouthness. Those are not the people who can, in any way, right the ship.

I hope those of you who celebrate Easter by going to church enjoy yourselves, and find the coats you left there on Christmas.

I don't typically post too much on politics, but if you''e happy that Cory Booker is steeping up, I've written a form letter to encourage your senators/congresscritters to do similar, which you can add your own material to: pastebin.com/E2qYTLUJ

I'd say in addition that Ezekiel 16:49-50 is explicitly condemning Sodom and Gomorrah for their excess (primarily of wealth and gluttony) and a complete lack of empathy in practicing hospitality to strangers. Foundational to Abramic faith is a duty of hospitality to the alien and the pauper as well.
the story of sodom is that a bunch of greedy rich assholes decided that it was their own brilliance that made them so wealthy rather than god's good graces (sheer luck). when they not only refused to share their abundance and began to punish those who did, god smote them for their wickedness.

The older I get, the more i realize I'm really tired of trying to impress the imaginations of rich people when I fucking walk to work. You can call it class warfare, but the homeless dudes i walk by on the street definitely grasp me better than senior management ever has.
