West Ham will be fine this season but he was 100% not the right manager for us at this point in time. I was convinced Moyes was exactly what we needed but he has exceeded all expectations and then some. To think we’re pretty much safe after a month in is incredible.

All the complaining that they deal took too long but it eventually went through with the option to buy, not an obligation as initially reported. Thelwell needs credit here for getting us the best deal possible.

If you see Moyes talk about balance and team set up, he seems to favour having one attacking FB and one more defensively minded so if Myko plays, I can see Patterson getting game time.

Anyone else is a massive gamble with the predicament we’re in. We’d all love an attacking, progressive manager but we don’t have the players for that right now. I’d take Moyes to the end of the season if need be.

This has been my view for the last few weeks. Probably not many others who could get a tune out of this group of players and has a wealth of PL experience. Long term, there’s plenty of other candidates but I’d be happy to have him for now.
