Guess who woke up to *real snow* & no gas supply turned on to the furnace?

If you guessed me, you'd be wrong, as I was doing my best impression of two bears fighting a chainsaw, but the spouse had a rough morning listening to complaints of the furry mutineers.

A last monarch butterfly visiting today. Tough lil Beastie. Just like this shrub, at 3 y o. that has been (semi accidentally) cut down to a single stem w/ about 6 leaves left TWICE. one of those times was around July this year, & this is already 5 ish foot tall. & Still blooming in Oct
And orange kitten stares through a window over an aptly named butterfly bush at a monarch butterfly. Butterfly managed to zip just beyond visible range as I took this picture, just to be a brat. There's still a good few purple blooms on the plant to be seen, in spite of the cold and gloomy day in October.

The haunch of the smaller (but still rather large) grey merle dog can be seen in the front edge of the frame, as she plays with an orange kitten. In the very next frame, the romping of the grey merle dog and the orange kitten, halfway in focus, has driven the big brown dog off his perfectly good bed, into his OTHER big fluffier bed, leaving the arena to their frolicking.
