i'm gonna be so serious, i'm pretty sure it was finding quantum break by @remedygames.bsky.social and realising games can be so rich in story.
i was maybe 14 at the time, already a writer, writing every day, but i suddenly realised i could write for games too!!
It was actually some science Olympiad contest that I got pulled into for some points where you make a game in an hour. I didn't know what I was doing, so I just made a character move in 1 direction.
But it got me really interested in programming and game dev
Pokemon Essentials. It had little me trying to crack RPG Maker XP in order to play with the alternative to ROM hacking my favorite games in an attempt to make my own.
I got addicted to the tile editor. Then I realized I could make my own Dark Cloud. The rest is history!
