Howard Hughes comes to mind. Hughes Aircraft Corp. Became a recluse in his latter years and lived alone on the penthouse floor of the Acapulco Princess Hotel. Years before he died he stopped trimming his nails and they grew crazy long. I have no idea how much or to whom he left his fortune.
