I’m seeing mostly hate in my less curated spaces
I feel like everyone who has ever worked in this corner of the industry gets it. And I feel for her and think it’s bold (not that her fans will pick up on it) to put media on display where he’s just not good at selling. He’s very game, but fails to hit the “genuine” note for me.

Also I do think a lot of people have rigid thinking and are prone to getting the rule (HP profits an author with harmful politics, so don’t support because it can cause harm) vs the spirit (it’s bad to cause harm.)
In this scenario, crushing a sick kid’s soul over HP is causing harm.

And I think they would even knee jerk at “too woke” but it’s true and it’s exhausting in left/progressive spaces to the other leftist/progressives. Like assume everyone knows then check the assignment — it’s care and connecting with sick kids, not “is the writer a good person.” We can hold both.

I was never annoyed with her beyond the objectively bad interviews that were unnecessary. That criticism is valid. The rest?

I think it’s a good lesson to never monolithically join in on bandwagon campaigns — I think Blake/Ryan are out of touch w/their own PR but that’s unrelated to anything to with Justin.

Only problem is I'd still go because she's the only person who I feel like I'm WILLINGLY throwing cash at for no good reason other than I want to, she brings me joy, and that joy is worth my cash to me in the sincerest way possible. Like I never feel tricked or pressured, it's voluntary.
