On the train ride home from #gamescom2025 after showcasing Flick Shot Rogues all week lomg, tired and happy.
It was a great time, and I met a bunch of cool folks. Gotta shout out some of the games once my brain works again!

(3/4) Which is, obviously, pretty bad. We missed this, probably because we were hit by developer blindness. There is a reason the second path exists, but it is non-obvious for first time players what path should be taken when.
So I spent today reworking how the maps are generating!

(2/4) But this got me thinking. Somehow, this player, who played 45 minutes of our demo, missed all that.
So I checked out how it could happen, and actually, the way we generate our maps, sometimes it allows to completely skip the nodes that allow for the deepest gameplay!

🧵(1/4) So, after a lot of hard work, we just released the demo for Flick Shot Rogues! (Yay!)
But the first ever feedback we got was kinda bad, and it bummed me out.
Worse, I know it is not true, we have tons of great upgrades that mix up the gameplay and allow for tactical depth.

Crazy! Just looked through older versions of our game Flick Shot Rogues, and sometimes I forget how much of a glow-up the game had in the past year. Feels good!
This is the exact same arena by the way!

Getting the math for the rounded edges right was a pain - but dang, does it save time to be able to create the level shapes fast and easy!
