It’s also important which model you are using, how good your prompts are and what’s your existing skill level is. ChatGPT plus is not going to give you an enterprise grade OSS product. But there are specialized models that absolutely can handle that and save developers time.

Three years ago, it would’ve made them 75% slower. AI is not something that’s going away and people need to at least be prepared to adopt it within the next few years, if they haven’t already. As a systems administrator and project consultant, it has saved me hundreds of hours in the last year.

In an ideal world, that would be much more likely to happen. We don’t live in an ideal world, and we certainly don’t live in ideal times. Sometimes good people are forced to consider the unthinkable to preserve the vulnerable.
