Fountain pen doodling! Eine Schnecke. Done with this Sailor Ancora Pansy fountain pen (B) and Sailor Studio 224 ink on Iroful paper. Not a huge drawing, but still used up a lot of the converter. 🖋️

Very much enjoyed this wonderful and unique read! Loved how a celebration of biodiversity was tightly integrated into the story. Also really liked how it portrayed a character’s extreme anxiety disorder. 💙📚

Little fountain pen tree doodle in Sailor Studio 224 ink. Based on some tree doodle from Google image search results. The ink shading added to the experience and result! Maybe should doodle more often with FP ink.

Hobonichi Weeks pen testing page again, this time with a better photo, and a couple new entries added. Saw no bleed through from this page, just a normal amount of ghosting, but unfortunately have seen some mild bleed through on other pages. Hoping the paper quality improves for next year.

Thank you! 😊 Tsuwairo Blue in a Sailor Yuzu F is an almost perfect writing experience for me. The line width is consistent, and I’ve never seen a hard start, whereas I have seen slight hard starts in Preppies with Octopus Write & Draw inks.

Inking up this Kaweco Sport BB nib fountain pen with Diamine Jacaranda (leftover from Inkvent 2023) was an experience. Either this ink is very wet, or this pen is kind of spurty. Cool results with lovely shading on Iroful paper. On most other papers, some feathering happens. Love trying new combos!

Inked several fountain pens the other day. Feeling pen-spired. Especially into the Sailor 224 ink in a Sailor 14k broad nib. And loving the Sailor Tuzu pens with fine nibs.

Current state of the pen testing page in my Hobonichi Weeks. Mostly of water resistant inks in fountain pens, but also of a Jetstream ballpoint multi-pen.

Puzzles! Looking forward to cozy days inside putting them together. Pre-ordered the 1000 piece Pokémon one. Saw the Spy x Family one and decided I needed it too.

Day 9

Phew, this took a while. I set up my blank A5 Hobonichi notebook as a memory-keeping journal with an index and monthly overview spreads up through Feb. 2026. Any ideas what to put in the space below the monthly spread columns? I picked a washi tape which roughly matches the season for the monthlies.

It comes in a cute plastic case along with the Pokeball stand and some alternative charms to the Bulbasaur face.

I write with it sometimes. 🤩 I swapped on a black nib from another Lamy pen, which I think looks cool. It came with a standard silver colored nib.

Here's my Pokemon shelf, featuring Pokemon manga in German, figures from Pokemon themed bath bombs from Japan, and a Bulbasaur Lamy fountain pen from Taiwan. Hanging up nearby is a Pokemon poster by Paiheme.

Day 8
November 30, 2024 at 8:27 PM
Going to start a new journal in a plain Hobonichi A5 notebook tomorrow. From the pen testing, seems to have the older, better paper. No bleed through, even with wet Faber-Castell Grip fountain pens.

My Hobonichi Weeks seems like it will be helpful for unthawing my repertoire of guitar songs. A few days in now, and have made some nice technique improvements to my Gymnopédie play-through. 🎸 Picking just a few to focus on each week makes practice less daunting.

Day 5
November 20, 2024 at 8:06 AM
Here is a writing sample with my Pilot dip pen in fine with some Octopus Write and Draw inks. Not as fine as I expected. But still possible to write in a 3.55 mm grid (Hobonichi Weeks grid size).
