Happening under the rug as if it’s not as horrific as it is. Let’s not pretend everything is ok. Trump is actively making the world a more dangerous place. And let’s not pretend spectators and possibly players won’t get caught up in that.

I’m not suggesting giving up but not inviting pple and having a giant event like this fail in the US but not in Mexico and CND is a non violent form of resistance. That will reflect on this administration. Pple are looking for non violent ways to resist and this goes against that. It sweeps what is

Yep. I keep hearing how this will kill the entertainment industry and all I can think is would you rather the Ellisons own it and manipulate the population even more? (Not that I dont believe Netflix does the same, just less evil)

I think this too, I’ll probably never set foot in the US again. And it’s so sad b/c there are so many nice people and beautiful places, but I really don’t see this turning around anytime soon. I wish there was a light at the end of the tunnel but it just seems to get worse day by day.

Elbows up was a lot of talk. Carney talked about diversifying away from the US but then we’re buying more military equipment from them or allowing US LNG & O&G companies to buy up/build more infrastructure. We need to cut the US out as much as possible.

I read it and that’s what makes me so alarmed. The crazy thing is it talks a lot about how Trump wants America first in partnerships/allyship/trade/control without them realizing they already had that and are now destroying it. I just hope our gov is taking this seriously b/c right now it feels like

I thought the statue looked like severed hands coming out of sea weed and I then I wondered if they did it on purpose considering the bombings I’m the Caribbean.

I don’t know how any progressive fiscal conservative can honestly sit with the loons on the far right. We need a PPC so we know who the racist conspiracy theorists are. They shouldn’t be in one of the two largest parties. I’m hoping they go back to two parties too. And I’m scared they might win.

Ah. Yeah I’ve heard about the Canadians. Hence why there’s no way I’d be going to the US right now. I just don’t know how the US and the world can handle another 3 yrs of this.

Fucking crazy. Is there any resistance starting? I’m CNDian so hard to tell. I thought once white people saw other white pple taken they’d fight back since it could be them, but from what I see on Bluesky it’s more of the same. A few protests and call your representatives.

Same with Vancouver. Millions have been spent for only a few games and then long running summer events that people actually love are being cancelled because they can’t find funding.
