And the filters were novel. All the other websites and social media at the time were a clunky UX/UI disaster. Instagram was simple, clean, and you couldn’t share other folks content - it had to be yours. Then zuck ruined it like he does most things.

Instagram launched in 2010. I graduated art school in 2012, so needless to say I was an early adopter. Instagram was the first app that cared about aesthetic - it was full of photographers and artistic folks who wanted things to look good through the lens.
