I saw this years ago when all those don't tread on me libertarians morphed into pro-cop, back the blue types in defense of racist policing. It has always been about maintaining white supremacy. Even small government/state's rights.

I consider myself a leftist, but I am always annoyed at how the left idealises the white working class in general and unions in particular. Unions have always been bastions of racism and exclusion in the US. Unions helped Reagan win.
