Admittedly no. And i knew quite a few assholes in the time i was in the military. But i will say that it is hard to undo that training. It permeates to your very core. I have faith in my brothers and sisters in uniform that when the time comes, they will do the right thing

As a veteran myself i can weigh in confidently. Disobeying an unlawful order is baked into us from the word go when we get to boot camp. I will say, the orders to attack other countries would be obeyed. But orders to attack american civilians would be ignored. We are expected to be better than most.

I always believed that someone not willing to fight with his people has no right leading them. This belief shaped my growth, and now it puts me diametrically opposed to the country i once served's leadership

As a veteran, i promise you. This isnt a matter of common sense. This is a matter of training, and loyalty. And while i can't say the ranking officers are loyal to the constitution, our boots on the ground are. The training to recognize and refuse illegal orders is baked into our very being.

Yeah except, speaking from personal experience, we're trained from the day our feet touch boot camp to question unlawful orders. To not carry out orders that would violate the law, or are issued by incompetent or unfit leadership. Every soldier, sailor, and marine will not obey that order to shoot

Most military members will attack any foreign nation if ordered to, what i as a veteran believe whole heartedly is that virtually no service member, with the exception of the national guard, would attack american civilians. That is where they would draw the line. Nowhere else
