It's tricky to write a most special character in a huge, high stakes story, but it's also what makes many of them interesting.
Boring characters can come in all flavors, and so can Most Special Characters. It's a correlation/causation differentiation that needs to be made.

I don't know if it's something that would help you, but when my wife needs to get an IV put in she asks them to use her hand instead because it's easier to find a vein there
