Pt. 8: We didn't want this. We didn't vote for this. So many countries are angry at us that there's nowhere to run to even if I could afford to ex-pat somewhere. I protest in silence while my mind screams.

Pt. 7: wants to take away food assistance for the same group of people and even take away school meals for children... because all of that money needs to be used for tax cuts.

Pt. 5: America was always referred to as a "melting pot", but now diversity has given way to book burnings, deporting and assaulting legal citizens, making English the official language despite never having one before, banning press that questions the actions of the emperor with no clothes.

Pt. 4: But now that plaque should be changed to: "Give me your Caucasian, rich and gullible." This isn't my America. This America is broken and I don't know if it can ever be fixed.

Pt. 3: This America is being ruled by a leader that doesn't care about a constitution that he swore to preserve, protect and defend. The Statue of Liberty, a gift to us from France, has a plaque engraved with the words: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free".

Pt. 3: This America is being ruled by a leader that doesn't care about a constitution that he swore to preserve, protect and defend. The Statue of Liberty, a gift to us from France, has a plaque engraved with the words: "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free".
Pt 2.: For the first time in my 44 years, I feel truly ashamed of my country. I don't want to celebrate any patriotic holidays anymore. This isn't the America that the veterans in my family fought for. This isn't the America that I faithfully voted and spoke up however possible since 1999.

A little late but: Normally, I would make a post today honoring my awesome mom on her birthday, wish people a happy 4th of July and maybe make a remark about how much heat and fireworks suck but to please stay safe and keep your pets safe. However, this year is different.
