My son went to private school. He had a diagnosis of additional need due to ADHD/ASD. The school did not allow him extra time. It simply is not the case that private kids with private diagnoses get ET.

I sympathise! Mine is because I joined this summer and I’d just moved to N Yorks after the majority of my life spent in the Midlands. As a child I had a Yorkshire accent so sometimes I dust it off and try it out on an unsuspecting public. “You int queue luv?” was today’s attempt 😊

I agree. It’s overall feeling like I am valued and trusted to do my best that has made the difference in the good and happy schools. But as well as professional trust, the ability to voluntarily cover a colleague was so good. Everyone managed to be a good parent to their own children for a change!

Autonomy for teachers. Trust from leadership. Allowances made for real life eg. staff getting other staff to volunteer cover while they attended their child’s sports day. Sense of teamwork and community. Few duties. New initiatives only with agreement. Excellent behaviour from children.
