Anyone else seen the National Property tax story today and gone???

A tax on owner-occupiers if house over £500k - how will that interact with CGT and PPR? Will it be flat rate, will it apply regardless of if made a loss, if only 100% PPR. Too many thoughts!!

Anyone want me I’m just going to be sad because I missed a call from @mattchorley.bsky.social BBC Radio 5 Live show but I can’t work out researcher’s name on the voicemail so the central switchboard can’t help me call back. 😭

Apologies we were initially given a fix date of July, but incorrect Class 2 ‘corrections’ will continue to September now.

Your regular reminder that fraudsters read the news more closely than anyone - and use real hooks like the winter fuel payment u-turn to make their fraudulent scams more believable. Please warn your family members

The penance for not producing grandchildren is having to provide IT support to aged parents.

Today, transferred mum’s old iPad to Dad. Both are invested so both are ‘helping’. Neither knows any passwords…

Fantastic ending to Baroness Kidron's speech in the House of Lords yesterday, which led to the government's defeat on AI & copyright.

Speaking the UK's creators: "Their property, their labour, is worthy of your protection - because apart from anything else, it is not ours to give away."

Several ICAEW member firms have had their HMRC agent accounts being suspended without notice.

In its latest Agent Update, @HMRCgovuk explains why it takes this action and what agents need to do: ow.ly/UoWp50VrkNf

I’m looking to chat to anyone who has used the Help To Save scheme to put some money aside and get the government bonus. Please do email me - felicity.hannah@bbc.co.uk if that’s you. And any shares gratefully received because it’s a little-known scheme

Normally I like working in the Easter hols as it’s quiet. But this year everyone is emailing me because everyone else is away and this is very much spoiling my peace.

It’s been a day - but I am very grateful to the fabulous @AvantiWestCoast staff at Euston who helped tonight after I (just) missed my train - and the lovely lovely lady at the Flour Station who snuck a sweet treat in my bag.

People are good and kind x

How can a dress that you tried on last night - be too short the next day?!

Going to be sitting carefully all day now 😱🫣🙈

An absolutely lovely human on the train (who I don’t know) has just bought me a bacon butty! Entirely unexpected gift 🥓

Awesome way to start the day!!

All meetings should start with people pointing out when they heard me on @moneybox.bsky.social - it’s rather nice 😂🥰

For the sake of our sanity I have two suggestions for next week:
Musk free Mondays
Trump free Tuesdays

The deal. We don’t talk about them on social media on their named day. Like a sort of weekend. But from, well, insert your own word choice.

There needs to be a word for when you ask someone a simple question but instead of just answering it, the other person gets unexpectedly over-involved, won’t let it drop and you end up regretting asking them in the first place

If I message Dad asking for a train pick up (my car in garage) I get an ok.

If I message Mum, I get a yes plus food menu because I can’t quite persuade her it’s possible for me, as a grown woman, to forage for myself in our capital city 😂🥰
