I don’t know about other folk but I’ve not heard a single cuckoo this year… ☹️

Had some very interested spectators on my @bbs-birds.bsky.social late visit this morning. Followed me across their field and even checked my clipboard to make sure I was recording my birds right!

Pleased to get my copy of the Breeding Bird Survey and good to see our county, Sussex, with such good coverage. Second year doing my square. @bbs-birds.bsky.social

Our village had its #VEDay celebrations yesterday. We had a choir, someone from the local history society telling how war affected the village, and they lit the beacon. So many people gave so much for everything we take for granted now…

Got about thirty of these growing on a verge locally. Just lovely.

When we moved into our house three years ago, the garden was in a poor state with a few decent plants in the wrong places and struggling. I his wisteria was one. Moved it and nurtured it. First year it has flowered. 😊

Latest knitting project, a present for one of my great nephews. Who remembers these? Also bought him a Swanee whistle so he can do the sounds effects. I’ll be popular! 🤣😂

Ok, gardeners of blue sky, to me, wild garlic is a broad leaved plant with white flowers. My neighbour says this is wild garlic but it has narrow, blade like leaves and no flowers yet! It smells of garlic and grows like a weed, but can I cook with it… 🤔 @pepperpotherbs.bsky.social #gardening

As part of my freelance activities I do talks. Yesterday was ‘Poetry for those who think they can’t’ held in a lovely, listed village hall. ‘My literary dogs’ is by far the favourite so nice to do something different for a change.
