This is UK higher education right now. If you're searching for a job or facing redundancy, it really isn't you, everything is on 🔥, particularly in arts & hums. The only power I've taken from this is it really isn't personal & doing what you love is being used to exploit those 'survivors' in jobs.
More detail on the Sussex news of yesterday: 'The university informed staff in a meeting on 25 November that it was opening the voluntary redundancy scheme for academics and professional services staff....In total roughly 300 [Sussex] jobs are expected to go'.
