A productive @exetercityoflit.bsky.social partnership meeting today. We were treated to a tour of the Treasures of @exetercathedral.bsky.social This is the 10th century Exeter Book, the oldest book of English literature in the world. Also foundation charter and a wonderful wax votive figure.

I'm loving the stapler collection currently in RAMM's 'What do you collect?' case. Must be one of our best collections yet! If you think you can beat this, we'd love to hear from you. @rammuseum.bsky.social #museums #photography #staplers

We were honoured to host a wonderful, colourful, joyful celebration of #GaneshChaturthi at RAMM on Wed night. It was lovely to welcome our friends from the Hindu Cultural centre to the museum. And a treat to see the statue of Ganesh out of his case. A fantastic example of community collaboration 🙏

I came across this delicate little creature on my walk on Dartmoor today. I think it is a green hairstreak butterfly. Not a great picture sorry. #nature #insects #wildlife #butterfly #Devon

The peonies are looking lovely and blowsy today. I find that in my garden they really only look good for one day a year and today's the day! #gardening #flowers #photography

St Lucy and St Michael by Crivelli. Date c 1496. St Lucy is carrying a plate on which lie her own eyes. St Michael tramples a very naughty-looking devil under foot. #Renaissanceart #art #museums #galleries

Caught up with my favourite masterpieces at the National Gallery this week. The Renaissance galleries are breathtaking after the rehang. Crivelli's Demidoff Altarpiece gave me goosebumps. I used to sit in front of this in my 20s, marvelling at how modern it looked. #museums #art #photography

Thrilled to be at the launch of #TimeOdyssey at the British Museum today, representing RAMM. Rural isolation often limits cultural and educational opportunities. 82% of schools in the Devon pilot had not visited the museum in the last 12 months. Thanks to funder Art Explora. @rammuseum.bsky.social

Bowerman's Nose on Dartmoor. The legend is that a thousand years ago, a huntsman called Bowerman disrupted a coven of witches whilst hunting a hare. They turned him into stone, and here he is. #Devon #Dartmoor

Children in rural areas often have limited opportunities to visit museums or to participate in arts and culture outside of school. This is all about raising their horizons.

The brilliant artist Ruth Webb worked with the children. The project was in response to teachers expressing their concern at the rise of racism and misogyny in their schools.
