That sounds like a community that is full of hope. I think it just takes time for every individual to realise that safeguarding isn't about strict rules and bureaucracy, but about love, care and a safe place for all. Once it does click (and it will) it will be transformative.

Keep going - you are doing an amazing job! Nothing is more important to God than keeping all of His children safe from harm. I was parish safeguarding officer for 8 years..and after passionately talking about it for all that time, it is now part of our culture.
