This morning I was lucky enough to hear the bells being rung in the Anglo Saxon tower of St Peter’s Church, Barton upon Humber, during the last open day this year. So sad that English Heritage can no longer afford to keep this wonderful church open more regularly

I went to the cinema today for the first time in a while and was absolutely gripped by this film from start to finish. The cinematography, score and acting was stunning. If you want a couple of hours of complete escapism in a viscerally realised Gothic landscape then this is the film for you!
