I did medicine as a graduate & think that helped me to maintain some semblance of balance in life while a student, difficult as it was. Self care is so important, & hard as it is, vital to being a good clinician.

Interesting chat about structural misogyny in the NHS discretionary points system earlier today. Harder for those with caring responsibilities, who tend to be women, to do the things that get them, or even find time to apply for them.

As slave to a cat who loves to play fetch & who has also made up a collaborative game, with very specific rules, involving chasing her favourite toy, this is my kind of research. And in Nature no less.
