The party is too loud. Revali is used to noise. Rito Village has little use for walls, and so the chirping of fledglings and the chattering of their parents is a constant background melody to his daily going-ons, but this party is loud in a way that only a formal event can be loud: music that takes up too much space and shouted whispers that echo between the confining walls. Revali hates every second of it. Were it not for the status bestowed upon him, he never would have deigned to be present at an event organised by the Hyrulean King. As it stands, he had only planned to put in a courtesy appearance before absconding towards the open air, but in the hour since he arrived, he has been accosted by noble after noble, all eager to congratulate him on rising so high from such humble beginnings.

When Aryll follows the winding path down to the beach, Zuko spots her from the crow’s nest and shouts a greeting. Aryll waves in return, skipping further along the road towards the ship. Mr. Gonzo is down on the pier and grins widely when she walks up. “All set for tonight?” he asks. Aryll nods. “Yes! Grandma’s been making soup for Link and she says she’ll give you all some too!” Grandma started making soup two days ago, sealing off each batch securely. She’s been teaching Link how to make his own soup too, and she’s even allowed Aryll to help. Link might be better at cutting onions, but Aryll is definitely better at making sure nothing gets burned.

The burden of leading the Gerudo falls to me now. The first Hylians showed up at our gates yesterday. They were bedraggled, hungry, desperate for water after trekking through the desert. I could not refuse them entry, even the voe who were part of their company. We cannot allow them within our walls for long, but perhaps… Kara Kara Oasis appears to be relatively safe still. The machines that turned on the Hylians have not attempted to cross the desert. Once the Hylians have recovered from their ordeal, we will lend our support so that they may create a settlement of their own, where they can live safely in our proximity. On Stable Land - Heleentje

I can finally share my story for Harp in Shadows! This story was a blast to write and the zine looks incredible!
“Were you close?” Saria asks. A simple curiosity, but one that gives Zelda pause. Were they close? Not with Zelda, certainly. Their meetings had been fleeting, driven by the futile urgency to stop Ganondorf’s plans before they came to fruition. With Sheik, then? They had run into each other more often, even though those moments had been brief as well. “I think we could have been.” Harp in hand, Sheik sits down next to Saria and plucks out a melody that resolves itself into the Song of Time. A wish, perhaps. Link may not quite have been a friend, but he was one of the only people who knew. “I think he might have understood.”
