Thank you for saying that, I love Diablo to pieces but Diablo 2 never caught me. Even though many people praise it so much, I could never put my finger on why It didn't work for me. (never played it at a very young age, like I did with Diablo 1, so maybe nostalgia is strong for most people)

Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup does the branching dungeon beautifully, it's a roguelike though. But just slapping its dungeon on Diablo would already be pretty awesome.
