So, it turns out federal employees take their oath, their job & their duty to serve dead serious. Retirees (like me) understand the oath doesn’t expire just because you’ve left. This whole thread is giving me life, but especially this:

As someone else pointed out this is the exact same trick Elon played at his companies. It’s not a “buyout.” The money has not been authorized by Congress. They are playing games. Don’t fall for this bullshit.

So - immediate reaction to Bluesky: I really want to know who the people are who follow me/I interact with! I wish people would use their names or make themselves known. This is one of the reasons I never really got into instagram. I don’t like interacting with strangers.

I am still primarily living on Facebook, since so many of my connections are there and I would be terribly isolated if I abandoned those. I would love to connect here, though, and I am devastated at the changes happening in our country.
