To say it’s been hard for me to let this project go is an understatement. But I take comfort in knowing the film will always live on. It will live on and always represent the beautiful place -a story- that holds all of the love I have for my late mom.

Thanks to the leadership and vision of Chris Sanders and Jeff Hermann. I still can’t believe this opportunity, and Peter Brown’s little story, fell into my lap when it did. I poured everything I had into it. We all did, because we believed in the power of this story.

The imagery was super compelling, but in the end it wasn’t giving us the insight into Roz’s character that we needed to service the rest of the story.

A few crabs & a raven did not survive the making of this film 😂

I ended up using some stock photography and video for some of the water in this scene. I think because the environment was such a character for us in these opening scenes. The photography seemed to help me to sell the contrast between Roz and the wilderness.
