I was fortunate to get to spend a few days on Sapelo Island this week for work. The cultural and natural resources there are like nowhere else. I am extremely grateful to do what I do and for the respite of this trip during these days. Here are some pictures of the beach, butterflies and birds.

It’s literally raining cats and dog here. I just found this poor little baby under my front porch in a pouring rainstorm. We live out in the country so I have no idea where he came from.

Thanks to the Biden administration I was able to submit my passport renewal online and it came back today — just 19 days later! I was terrified that they would cancel the program or lose my passport in a massive layoff. Whew.

Here are some photos from today. My husband is still cleaning up from the hurricane, and popped the tailgate off Ol’ Yeller, our farm truck, pulling down the last big limb left hanging by Helene. If you can, go outside. Get a little sun on your face. Breathe some fresh air. I really does help.

Our camellias are blowing up right now. We have an acre garden of all varieties but Helene dropped some serious tree debris in there and I can barely get in to cut flowers. Our area is still scarred from the 100+ mph winds that scoured us.

Well, I submitted my online passport renewal. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 it sucks that in renewing your passport there is always a 4-6 week window where you feel like anything could happen to your identity. That feels especially acute now.

Normally when we go somewhere we have someone come stay at the house with the dogs. Since our tiny pup passed away we decided to start taking our goofy hound girl with us whenever we can. She loves that hotel life and is now unbearable with entitlement. I love it! 😂😂😂
