With all due respect Merci is used by a certain amount of Catalan speakers who often speak the Central Catalan variety, and even among them many will claim merci is a deformation of mercés whether this is true or not , I don't know. Words we would say gràcies, gracis, agraït.

I'm proficient at English since childhood, but neither is it my mother tongue or my second language, and nonetheless few have been the times when I truly struggled not understanding an Scottish person, on the contrary, far too often I struggled with certain accents from England's countryside.

This predicament was foreseen and thought thouroughly. I struggle to understand how we went back to Military Conquest, pf course they need Russia on this so they can do whatever they want. We never saw this coming
