If any of you nerds are going to this groundbreaking, someone please ask ATLDOT if the plans have been adjusted to reflect MARTA’s NextGen. Older South Boulevard plans showed dedicated bus stations, but my understanding is MARTA is eliminating this route.

One of the craziest parts of NIMBYism is the claim they want to “preserve neighborhood character” but if you visit any random neighborhood that predates silly zoning rules, it’s absolutely ~d~r~i~p~p~i~n~g~ with character.
PS yes, I know making this point with Savannah pics is almost cheating.

One of the dirty secrets in ATL urban planning is that traffic is down (WAY down in some cases) despite adding tens of thousands of new residents. Here’s a pic of me easily riding my bike down the center lane of Peachtree during Monday rush hour, and there are more pedestrians than car drivers.

Love to see a second story added to an existing building in EAV. This type of construction was unremarkable for thousands of years, but thanks to our insane land planning and zoning laws, it’s extremely rare today. Kudos to whoever is behind this!
