PhD candidate researching the impact of oxytocin in cognition and behavior at the University of Oslo using meta-science and experiments 🤓. I like to knit 🧶 and run 🏃‍♀️ (not at the same time).
You can use a point-and-click web application to generate the main forest plot, funnel plot, as well as a forest plot for each subgroup analysis (dsquintana.shinyapps.io/ot_meta_exec/). The R code to run the application on a local computer is also available on OSF (osf.io/7eg5u/). (5/6)

Interestingly, a subgroup analysis on the subcategories of executive functions showed a small effect on improving cognitive flexibility (g=0.20, P=0.02), which warrants further studies to investigate the effect of oxytocin administration on flexibility. (4/6)

Meta-analyzing 20 effect sizes from 13 studies, we did not find a significant effect of OT on overall executive functions (g=0.07, P=0.3). This result was corroborated by the Robust Bayesian meta-analysis BF=0.1, i.e. moderate support for the absence of an effect for the overall meta-analysis (3/6)
