After making a lengthy post on LinkedIn on the ICJ climate ruling, I got hit with a post promoted by Chevron on the platform. Y’all, the devil works fast.
Over the last few weeks, as I’ve watched countless friends and former colleagues lose their jobs at USAID and the State Department, I’ve wondered if there is more we can do to get people to understand that these aren’t just lost jobs and shuttered organizations.
Without @voanews.com.web.brid.gy and USAID-backed media and civil-society programs, authoritarian regimes will find it easier to suppress dissent and promote their distorted narratives, writes @newamerica.org’s Heela Rasool-Ayub.
